3rd Generation - First Edition

3rd Generation is a collective social documentary photobook project which shows the lives, opinions, and thoughts of Israeli and Palestinian youth using a very individualistic and personal approach. The protagonist’s stories in the book are told through pictures, interviews, and texts.

It is realized by Iuna Vieira, photography on the Israeli side, Mafalda Rakoš, photography on the Palestinian side, and Raphael Reichl, graphic design.

The aim of this project is to bring this topic, which often appears very abstract, closer to the viewer through this approach. We hope to question stereotypes and challenge the viewer to confront himself with a real person instead of a potential embodiment of a religious, political or ideological party – may it be Palestinian boys playing basketball or Israeli girls at a sleepover party.
